The beginning of the New Year is a time to reflect on the past year but look forward to what comes with the New Year. Here are some suggestions on becoming happy in the New Year.
- Reflect on all the good things there are in your life. If you are able to evaluate your situation you are more likely to move toward a positive outcome.
- Remember that the person you are now is a result of your past experiences. While this may seem overwhelming, if we used that information to think and act more positively, we can make changes, improve outcomes and begin living a better life.
- Give yourself permission to feel depressed or sad due to a negative situation. Then push yourself to move on optimistically and have maintain a fresh outlook.
- Realize feelings can be both good and bad. You have the power to change them. You are the one who determines how you feel. No one else can tell you how to feel.
- Remember that being happy doesn’t come from what you have. Some of the poorest people are the most happy and some of the wealthiest are the most unhappy. Free happiness comes from within.
